The Right Message

A concerned wife called the pastor anxious for him to come to visit her husband in the hospital. He had a stroke and wasn’t doing well and she was at the end of her rope and needed strength and encouragement. Life didn’t look good.

When the pastor arrived the wife was out of the room and the husband shared his discouragement of the condition he was in. He didn’t have strength in his legs and arms. He knew his attitude was bad and he was hurting his wife.

She was a sensitive woman and took his anger at the situation as anger towards her.

The wife soon arrived and seemed worn out from worry for her husband, the situation, and the future. She needed encouragement and support.

After a time of talking and praying, the pastor pulled out of his pocket a few Pop Open Cards to allow the couple to choose one.

The man opened his card. It was about God’s protection and leading. It was just right for the situation he was in and the challenges that lay ahead. He smiled and commented he knew God was with him.

The wife opened her card and the message calmed her and was just what she needed. She was so grateful.

Both got the message they needed from the Lord. Both were perfect. If they had been switched it would not have had the same effect.

The pastor left the room knowing God had shown up again. The messages on the cards were the final word of encouragement they both needed
